Project: Terminus Conference + Festival, a film and gaming conference focusing on budding college-aged creatives
Objective: Develop a year specific brand and design a complete event package
Position: Lead Designer
TERMINUS was a blockbuster weekend event that rolled out the red carpet for aspiring filmmakers and game developers, giving them an all-access pass to the industry's inner workings. Through a lineup of workshops and panel discussions led by seasoned pros, attendees got an unfiltered glimpse behind the scenes, learning the real ropes of turning their dreams into reality on the big screen or console.
My concept for the event's visual identity was a blast, paying homage to the traditional art of overprinting while giving it a refreshing digital spin - much like how TERMINUS seamlessly united the worlds of film and gaming. The misaligned typography, geometric shapes, and gritty print textures scattered throughout created a harmonious clash of analog and digital that brought the theme to life in a big way.
As the Design Lead for this project, I assumed a pivotal role, delegating tasks and overseeing the production process, ensuring a cohesive and visually captivating experience. But I also got my hands dirty, personally designing the entire range of print and digital assets that made up the event's unmistakable visual signature.
Design Touchpoints:
a. Event Assets - Badges, tickets, sticker, canvass tote bags, shirts, bottle openers, wristbands
b. Wayfinding - Retractable standing banners, vinyl wall banners, directional, location, and admin boards, digital guides/maps
c. Experiential Design - Step and repeats, branded tablecloths, lighting effects
